I had a big block Ford Galaxie convertible in college that I wished I never sold. It gets better, my dad's business partner bought a 289 Cobra off a Mercury showroom floor, and he bought it for $7500 out the door in 1967. He sold it in the mid 1980s for like $50,000. If only he kept it a little longer....

Nothing really old or muscle.
I let my Big 82 Blazer with a blown trans and rotted body go for my autoX bimmer which needed a restoration. I let my wifes 93' Z24 Cavalier be traded in for what is now my 95' Blazer....
So I have no regrets for anything I've "sold". My collection will stay my collection come hell or high water. I put to much time and effort in to them and after hearing all the guys tell me their tales of whoa about selling off something they loved I'll keep all mine.

1992 5.0 Mustang LX Black with gray interior. Great car, needed a four door car for work:( and couldn't afford to keep them both. I special ordered the car and had it for 7 years!

Either the 67 GT500 I bought for $500 or the 68.5 CJ Mustang I bought for $100. ;) There were quite a few more but these were the 2 that really hurt to let go. :(

I have many that I regret selling but in 1980 they just weren't worth much. Just a couple.
Bought a 70 Plymouth superbird that had been sitting next to a house for years for $1200. It was a 440 6 pack 4 speed car and had been sitting in AZ next to the house for over 10 years. Cleaned it up and drove it for a couple months and sold it for $4800. Thought I made a killing.
One of the other was a 69 Boss 429 Mustang. Like I said, when I was in high school in 1980 they were just old fast cars that used to much gas.

#1 has to go to my '68 GT (S code) Fastback. My first car. I bought it torn apart, on a trailer for $350 when I was 13 years old (1978). I finally had it on the road (licensed) when I was 17. The original 390 and 4-speed were long gone. It ended up (with a lot of help from one of my friends' dad) with a 429SCJ under the hood out of an early '71 Mach 1 that met with a light pole and became a donor. Wicked fast car, but handled like a Sherman tank! I sold it in 1984...
Mine was nearly identical to this one...

#2 would have to be my '59 Chev Apache Fleetside. I bought it from my dad when I was in high school. I learned to drive, and I learned the value of hard work in this truck when I was about 12 years old hauling hay on the farm. That was a hard, but rewarding summer! Original 283 4bbl 4-speed. Bullet-proof truck! Also sold in 1984...
Mine was nearly identical to this one...

#3 goes to the last of my '88 Thunderbird Sport coupes. I've owned 7 of these over the years, and the last one was my pride and joy. I picked it up wrecked for $1300 which included all the parts to rebuild it...entire front clip, hood, lights, etc. and spent a couple months bringing her back to life. It originally had the non-H.O. 5.0 and AOD. I swapped in a 331 and T5 along with a Turbo Coupe rear end so I could have disc brakes all around. By far, one of the best handling, most comfortable rides I've ever owned. Still one of my favorite body styles...
This is the one I sold in 2002...

The one on the front page.
65 mustang restomod.
'69 Camaro Z/28 clone that I had in high school.
Warmed over 350, 4 speed and 4:11 gears.
The only problem was it was the most recognizable car in town and I heard the phrase "I saw that damn car of your's . . . ." more times than I can count. ;)

My first sports car was a 1955 Auston Healey 100-4. I bought it for $500 around 1963 and the salesman litterally had ot push me off his lot to crank it. Seems there was a "short" somewhere in the six volt system, and it seldom started with the switch. You learn in a hurry to find parking spaces that you can easily roll out of and hopefully one on a hill.
Now obviously that was not the one I regret selling. Incidentally I did sell it about a year later for $100 as I needed the money for Christmas. By that time I had acquired a 1960 Austin Healey 3000, and that is the one I regrete selling. I bought it from a friend for $200 down and $80 per month for ten months for a total of $1000 - all in. After enjoying it for several years it was time to move on and sold it for $1000 cash. At the time I thought what a great deal I made. Bought it for $1000 over time and sold it later for $1000 cash! I was right happy with myself.
Now nice Healey 3000's go for $30k - 40K - and up! You know on second thought maybe I don't want to think about the car I regret selling most...

I had a 1966 GT Mustang in high school. It was an A-code with 4 speed and factory AC. Light blue with blue interior. Sold it back in 1993 to a guy from TN. I still have his address and phone number-hope to track it down one day soon.

How I'd wish my dad didn't sold his old Buick Regal. It's old and yet, it's not as crap as what others might think. It's a nice car. It has a unique floor mats (http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/floor_mats~pop.html) that we like. Now I wonder why newer innovations doesn't have it. :(
