Old Corvette question!?

Did all 50s Corvettes come with a Rock Crusher tranny? Or was it optional?

The Muncie M-22 "rockcrusher" was never factory installed on any 50's Corvettes. The Corvette didn't get a 4 speed until half way through the 1957 model year. The M-22 first showed up as an optional transmission on the Corvette in the 1966 Model Year where a grand total of 15 were ordered at an option price of $237.00. (Worth every penny of it IMHO).:cool:

Hey thanks Gil, that is exactly what i needed to know. I once drove a 57 Fuelie with the M22 over a whole weekend while I was at college at Georgia Southern. It belonged to a good fiiend who still has it!! I'll never forget shifting that car and the sounds! I have some pics I'll have to dig up.
