Best way to sand clear coat

I have 3 coats and started with 1500 and working up to 2000. Then buff, how do you know when to stop? When clear coat looks dull and even? Any tricks to making sure I have sanded enough prior to buffing? Thanks

Use a small rubber squeege to wipe away water and you will be able to see if there are any shiny spots. You are useing a rubber flex block to wet sand correct?
