Hi

Guys, after driving my FFR Mark II for about 4 years I sold it.
I never gave much thought to whether it was a Replica or Clone.
Since then I bought an original 2002 Saleen S-281. Now I see ads from people serlling Saleen clones. I know it doesn't really make sense but it kind of bugs me that some people devalue Saleens by their clones. Doesn't seem the same as Cobras since very few people would try tp pass off or try to sell a Cobra Replica as an Original. But I hear it happens periodically to Saleens.
That's why I called the Saleen factory for details before I bought mine to make sure it was a real one. I guess its like having a real Rolex and people thinking it's probably a copy.
Just my thoughts.

Ya there is alot of that clone stuff going around.

I guess a person really needs to check things out before buying a specialty car.

Exactly Ed. Also cars are being built and sold using an exsisting piece or few and being advertised as the real thing. Example the "Georgia Shaker" AFX driven originally by Hubert Platt sold at BJ this year. There was not much of the original car that they started with. So between the originals, recreations and clones you really need to do your homework. And also "correct" and 'period correct"....little difference there. :D
